Why didn't they land in water?

We’ve seen a lot of vehicles tossed out of the back of planes, but this is a first for a personal watercraft. While there’s nothing overly technical about the jump, we certainly wouldn’t want to be the guy tasked with pulling the chute cord for the PWC.
