Sea-Doo X-Team racers claim 14 championships at World Finals PersonalWatercraft.com October 18, 2010 Images: Photos by BRP Shares Comments James Bushell wins Pro Stock titleBRP led all manufacturers with 14 championships at the 2010 IJSBA (International Jet Sport Boating Association) World Finals, including three Pro World Championships. James Bushell captured the premier Pro Stock win aboard his Sea-Doo RXP-X. Bushell kept the momentum all weekend, topping the Sea-Doo X-TeamBounty “Brake the Bank” competition with the best single lap and ending the weekend with the third spot atop the podium in Pro Open aboard his RXT-X model watercraft. The IJSBA World Finals is the biggest single PWC event in the world drawing racers from 32 countries and attracting over 15,000 fans over the six days of racing. The fastest racers in the world converged on the waters of Lake Havasu, Ariz. and gave the fans a spectacular show of speed, horsepower and skills. At the end of the weekend Sea-Doo watercraft mounted racers claimed more wins than any manufacturer with 14 championships or two-thirds of the classes competed in. James Bushell won the Pro Stock title, as well as the Sea-Doo “Brake the Bank” hot lap competition. Bushell claimed the premier Pro Stock World Championship ahead of Chris MacClugage, and Sea-Doo RXP-X mounted Troy Snyder, the 2010 double US National Champion in the same class, who finished in third. Kylie Ellmers aboard her Sea-Doo Centre prepared RXP-X worked her way through the pack in the most exciting race of the weekend to collect her fourth Pro Women’s World Title. Nadar Binhendi aboard his reportedly 480 hp turbo powered Sea-Doo RXT-X claimed the win in Pro GP ahead of fellow RXT-X mounted Sam Harvey. Harvey was the apparent champion (crossing the finish line first) until he was cited for a missed buoy causing him to be penalized one lap. Harvey, the 2009 Pro Open Champion also had a strong showing in Moto 2 of the Pro Open class with a second place finish to culminate his weekend on a high note. Kylie Ellmers won her fourth Pro Women’s world title. In the special Sea-Doo X-Team Bounty “Brake the Bank” hot lap competition the top Sea-Doo watercraft racers from North America and the world were invited to post their single fastest lap on the World Finals track aboard the new Sea-Doo RXT-X aS watercraft. Top qualifiers, Snyder, Bushell, and Cody Hawkins took to the rough conditions Sunday to test their skills and the new adjustable Suspension system of the new RXT-X with the winner claiming $1,000. Bushell posted a solid single lap time bettering second place finisher Snyder by a mere 1/10 of a second for the win and combined with his Pro Stock win left the World Finals with $2,500 from BRP.
