2017 SXR

I have been riding Stand-up watercraft for over 30 years. Started on a Yellow 400 and progressed to a 440, then a 650 sx, a couple 800 SXR's and in April 2017 managed a new 1500 SX-R. All models were made by Kawasaki. Yes, the new SXR is the largest of all those other Standups, but I really like t...hat Kawasaki has developed the new SXR with a 4-stroke motor and although it took some time getting used to the size, I enjoy how the ski carves the water. When I think of the splashing fun I had with the other models compared to the 2017 model, naturally the power of the new SXR stands out. It is the most stable standup also. I am now in my 4th year/season of riding and I have had 1 warranty issue in that time. Within the first month of riding the fuel pickup in the tank broke and needed dealer repair. Since then I have only done required maintenance with oil and filter changes then keeping under hood clean and lubed. The battery was replaced this Spring along with 4 new spark plugs. When I ride it aggressively I can burn a tank of gas to low fuel warning in about 40 minutes, but this type of riding really draws the endurance. I set up a buoy course in the lake I ride for some carving fun and the SXR really likes the leaning turns allowing the sponsons to help grip in the turns. My wife has a Honda Aquatrax turbo which top speed is about 60-62 mph. When we race I get her on the hole shot and our top speed is so close she is not able to pass which I find pretty amazing for a standup. I really enjoy the standup and happy Kawasaki offers the SXR!
